Awards and Accolades for Our Cakes
January 2004 PETA's Restaurant of the Month: Craving a Philly cheesesteak, but don't want to cheat on your new year's resolution to lose weight? Head on over to Gianna's Grille in Philly. Gianna's GG Special won't doom your diet because it's 100% vegan and 100% delicious. Oh and did we mention all the desserts including the decadent homemade cheesecakes are vegan?! Gianna's owners Babs and Paul opened the restaurant (named after their daughter) in 1997 with the goal of providing a place where everyone could have a great meal, vegan or not. It's working, Gianna's has developed a following among meat eaters and vegetarians alike!!
Philly Weekly (Heather M. Duffy): Established in 1997, Gianna's Grille opened its new location on 6th street, between Lombard and South. Gianna's is operated by a husband and wife team who named the restaurant after their daughter. Offering meat, vegetarian and vegan sandwiches, pizza, sides and salads, Gianna's is a great option for veggie eaters with carnivorous friends. The restaurants motto "Homemade Eats, Vegan Treats" rings especially true when you see the peanut butter bomb and strawberry mousse cake in the dessert case. Another noteworthy recommendation is the Freebird, a pleasantly overstuffed vegetarian chicken cheesesteak, but you really can't go wrong with any selection. Prices are great for any budget.

— I had to tell you how amazing your cakes were! I'll admit, I was skeptical. My daughter is vegan and we had a large party for her graduation. She assured me I need not order any "regular" desserts in addition to yours- she was right! The majority of people there were not vegan and they all ate them blissfully!
